“Texas Tears” is the 2nd book written by Kenneth “Haramia” Foster.
His first book “Tribulation’s Eyes” (published in 2001) was a collection of poems attesting to spiritual struggle which has been translated into four languages and read across the world. Now comes his second work – a book of potent spoken word.
Though keeping his spiritual foundation, “Texas Tears” reveals Kenneth’s radical side.
This rebellion – reflected deeply through the poems and brief narratives – are not destructive in nature, rather is a rebellion that challenges the status quo of injustices and oppression that he and those around him have faced.
To stand in the face of monstrosity and not falter is what “Texas Tears” is about – but at the same time remembering the fallen and uplifting the warriors.
Kenneth has accepted his calling in the field of spoken word and he only hopes that his work will energize and mobilize the grassroots’ masses which he loves so much. An African Proverb says “The King fears only the poet; thanks God for the poets!”
And we are thankful for these verses of strength, passion and vision.
